Signet, Bantam and bar codes

I was in the used book store the other night after work. I was hoping to pick up a copy of The Last of the Mohicans. I wanted to get a Signet Classic edition from anytime before the invention and adoption of the UPC barcode. The last few years I've been trying to advoid buying any books that have barcodes on their covers. They never look right on a book cover and only serve to remind me how the world has gotten generally uglier on the last 30-odd years
